Industrial Development Corporation of SA Limited
- Survey of the local foundry industry and the status of the foundry industry in South Africa.
- Development and introduction of a technical and financial training course for newly appointed account managers in the IDC
- Ciskastreet’s team of consultants is also used to assist IDC in evaluation of applications for finance and the development of project proposals.
IDC Strategic Development Initiatives
The IDC supported the various development agencies in the country with the assessment of new project proposals. IDC used consultants to evaluate business concepts and formulate these into business proposals. Ciskastreet was involved in a number of these studies that included the development of stainless steel exhaust manifolds, catalytic converter (Dow Corning), steel fabrications in the construction industry, waste recovery from electroplating plants, pharmaceutical products (India) and new technology for metalworking using water pressure.
Support Programme for Industrial Innovation (SPII).
Ciskastreet’s services have been used for 5 years by the Department of Trade and Industry’s SPII programme to evaluate applications for grant funds under the DTI’s SPII scheme. Services included monitoring milestone achievements of funded projects and performance evaluation.
Agriculture Development Projects.
Financing the establishment of black farmers on new farmland presents unique challenges. Ciskastreet was involved in the execution of feasibility studies for establishment of 3 farmers’ cooperatives in the Limpopo Province.
In addition to these projects, Ciskastreet was also contracted by EpaKula Business Development and Solutions (Pty) Ltd, a BEE consulting firm in Midrand, to support them with the assessment of the fresh produce industry in Limpopo and develop strategic alternatives to promote value addition in the province.
Eastern Cape Industrial Development Zone.
Ciskastreet and AIH are involved in the assessment of the economic and technical feasibility of establishing a Multi OEM Vehicle Assembly plant for passenger vehicles in the ELIDZ.
Eastern Cape Government Department of Economic Development.
Ciskastreet and Blueprint conducted a survey of the petrochemical industry in the Eastern Cape with emphasis on both upstream and downstream manufacturing opportunities.
Intellectual Property Management.
Ciskastreet was involved in the development of an international business model and strategic plan for Citrogold, a local company that holds international plant breeder rights for various fruit cultivars. A direct result of the intervention is the equity investment by PlantBio(TIA) into the company.
